My role as a tutor for people with specific learning difficulties, is to help you find appropriate skills and strategies for success- whether you are already in employment, or are a pupil or student. All sessions are tailored to meet your individual needs.
For pupils at secondary school, our sessions will focus on finding strategies to help you achieve your learning goals. This might involve helping you to decode the different parts of words, to help improve reading and spelling, or focus on planning and organising your written work in order to help improve your grades. We can also work on strategies to decode and therefore, better answer exam questions.
For students in further or higher education our sessions can also target study skills, academic writing, use of technology to support learning etc. This could include planning, organising and time-management.
For people who are already in employment, sessions can explore strategies for success, including building confidence and self-esteem, using technology to help overcome barriers to reading and/or writing, or how to approach your employer to get reasonable adjustments which will accommodate your learning difficulty.
